BIOSKETCH
Dave Jensen Dave Jensen is the founder and Managing
Director of CareerTrax Inc. (CTI), an executive search and recruiting
firm (Sedona, AZ). Prior to the launch of CareerTrax, Jensen was the
CEO of Search Masters International, a top biotechnology executive search
practice founded in 1985, which he later sold to Kelly Scientific Resources,
a division of $4 Billion Kelly Services (Troy, MI). Prior to 1985, Jensen
established a life sciences practice for Govig and Associates (Phoenix,
AZ) under the Management Recruiters International brand.
After working as an executive recruiter for more than 20 years, his
clients regard him as an effective resource, often providing results
on search projects where others have failed or where extended advertising
campaigns have not brought in candidates. In addition to his day job,
Daves monthly column "Managing Your Career" and his
speaking engagements have made his company quite visible in the bio/pharma
industries.
Jensen has published over 300 articles on management and personal development
topics for journals such as BioPharm and Contract Pharma,
along with regular features in Genetic Engineering News and magazines
published by the American Chemical Society, the American Society for
Microbiology, and Society for Industrial Microbiology. Mr. Jensen has
delivered seminars and workshops in industry meetings internationally,
including keynote presentations at career events held by the National
Cancer Institute, Johns Hopkins University, University of North Carolina
Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt, University of Rochester, University of California
San Francisco and the statewide "California State University Program
for Education and Research in Biotechnology" (CSUPERB). He has
been a guest speaker at biotechnology trade events held in Copenhagen,
Stockholm, Madrid, Barcelona, Hamburg and Prague.
On more than fifty occasions, Dave has been interviewed regarding the
growth of jobs in the biotechnology sector, including articles that
have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the San Jose Mercury News,
Orange County Register, Family Money Magazine, Chemistry, Science, Bottom
Line, Employment Review, The Scientist, Nature, San Antonio Business
Journal and others.
Mr. Jensen is on the faculty of the Teaching
Survival Skills and Ethics Program from the University of Pittsburgh,
and serves on the Advisory Board of the AAAS Next Wave, the organization
behind many of the career services available at the Science Careers
website. In addition, Jensen serves on the Board of Directors for a
biotechnology venture, ProActive
BioProducts. This firm is the USA distribution arm for products
based upon ancient Scandinavian remedies that have gone through modern-day
clinical trials at Swedish
Herbal Institute (Gothenburg, Sweden).
